About KMIS

The Korea Society of Management Information Systems was established in November 1989 as a legal entity under the Ministry of Information and Communication to promote research and practice in management information systems (MIS) and contribute to developing and applying the discipline. As a comprehensive discipline that aims to lead digitization using the latest information and communication technologies, experts from various fields such as business administration, management science, behavioral science, cognitive psychology, computer science, information engineering, communication engineering, and industrial engineering are involved in our society.

Based on its academic research, KMIS conducts a variety of external activities as follows

1998. 12. 14. Opened the Society’s office (SeoktopOfficetel, Seocho-dong, Seoul)
1999. 06. 30. Launched ‘Information Systems Review’
2000. 06. 08. Co-hosting MIS/OA International Conference (with JSIM)
2001. 06. 20. Co-hosting PACIS2001
2004. 04. 01. Moved the Society’s office (Daewoo TheO’Ville, Yongsan-gu, Seoul)
2009. 03. 31. Changed the title of ‘Journal of MIS Research’ to ‘Asia Pacific Journal of Information Systems (APJIS)’
