Special Session on Intelligent Group Support Systems (IGSS) at

9th International Conference on Knowledge-based Intelligent Information & Engineering Systems (KES2005)

14 -16 September 2005, Melbourne, Australia


This session will explore the technology and the practical use in relation to Intelligent Group Support systems (IGSS) that support collaboration among knowledge workers. IGSS is an extension of the traditional group support systems that incorporate artificial intelligence, as well as cognitive/social psychology, decision science, project management, etc. to make the system more robust, flexible, intelligent, and user-friendly. IGSS may also enhance the outcome of team collaboration more creative and productive.

This special session on IGSS seeks to bring together researchers form around the globe for a creative discussion on recent advances and challenges facing IGSS research. The special session on Intelligent Group Support systems (IGSS) (http://cyberlab.csufresno.edu:8080/IGSS) is organized within KES2005 (http://www.kesinternational.org/kes2005/) by the Artificial Life and Adaptive Robotics Laboratory (ALAR) http://www.itee.adfa.edu.au/~alar/ at UNSW@ADFA.

We invite authors to submit their original and unpublished work that demonstrates current research and novel applications in IGSS. The special session will focus on, but not limited to, the following topics:

• Cyber-Collaboratories
• Intelligent Facilitation Agent
• Define/Develop Meeting Flavors
• Member Contribution Reward Agent
• Quantitative/Qualitative IGSS Assessment
• Organizational Learning/Memory
• IGSS Tools & Technologies
• Case Studies
• Impact of Collaboration Technologies
• Cooperative Teaching/Learning Experience in Universities

Paper Submission

All papers will be subject to a peer review process by at least two reviewers. All papers must follow the same requirements for the paper format of the conference that can be found at the website: http://www.kesinternational.org/kes2005/. After the final decision is made, authors will receive a notification letter accompanied with the reports of the reviewers. All accepted papers will appear in the conference proceedings of KES2005 and at least one of the authors must register and attend to present his/her paper at KES2005.

Submission of papers: March 1, 2005
Notification of acceptance: April 1, 2005
Camera ready papers to be received by: April 22, 2005
