Seoul in Korea(South)

Korea is a country of broadband with the highest penetration in the world. The electronic retailing occupies above 5% of retail industry, Internet banking covers 45% of bank's transactions, and 60% of stocks are traded through the Internet. Korea has implemented the CDMA for mobile phone and DMB(Digital Multimedia Broadcasting) first time in the world.

Located along the Hangang River, Seoul, the capital city of Korea, has grown into a teeming metropolis with a population of more than 11 million. While maintaining and restructuring the city, which has greatly expanded in the process of urbanization and industrialization, it continues to grow as the prosperous and thriving center of the country's political, economic, cultural and educational activities.

Seoul, the world's 10th-largest city and the venue of 1988 Olympics and 2002 FIFA World-cup, is a unique place where modern times harmonize with the past. Enriching cultural heritages and historical establishments such as ancient palaces are scattered among ever-expanding business districts packed with high-rise buildings. And it is always bustling with exciting events and enriching cultural facilities. Colorful events, performances and reenactments of traditional activities are held frequently, and with plenty of museums and galleries, there are many fabulous places to visit.

Historic Palaces

Seoul became the national capital in 1394 during the Joseon Dynasty, and has been maintained as the hub city of Korea for 600 years.
As a result, Seoul has several beautiful ancient palaces such as Gyeongbokgung, Gyeonghuigung, Deoksugung, Changgyeonggung, and Changdeokgung.

Hangang River & Aquariums

Meandering through the middle of the city, the Hangang River is important to Seoulites
both as a cultural symbol and a source of commercial wealth. Thirteen citizen's parks
contain natural education grounds and a full range of sports facilities. All the leisure
facilities are easy to access, allowing citizens to enjoy outdoor sports all year round.
In addition, modern pleasure ferries, some of which have several different double-decker
designs, travel the river between four piers.

The Official website of Seoul Metropolitan Government provides comprehensive
information including a visitors guide and virtual tour.
